Responsibilities
- This role is responsible for providing support services for the administration of clinical governance and risk within the Mental Health Service (MHS).
- The Patient Safety Officer works within the Mental Health Service Clinical Governance Unit, in collaboration with stakeholders, to support delivery of a continuously improving, safe and innovative Mental Health Service.
- This role supports the Clinical Governance and Risk Manager in relation clinical governance portfolios and risk management.
- The Patient Safety Officer plays a key role in the recording, briefing and monitoring of incidents, as well as analysis of incident data and other data to produce reports, to ensure that matters affecting patient safety are identified and escalated in a timely manner.

Selection Criteria
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health/ Safety Management or relevant equivalent work experience or a combination of study and work experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and appreciation of clinical governance portfolios and risk management processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in performing a range of management and administrative tasks within allocated timeframe.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare briefings, reports and presentations in relation to risk management and patient safety.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt work practices to meet current and emerging business needs.
- Current driver\u2019s licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
