Support geotechnical risk management and slope stability at Evolution Mining's Ernest Henry site through hands-on field and analytical assignments in a 12-week residential program.
Your RoleKey responsibilities include:
- Assisting with geotechnical data collection and basic analysis to support operational planning.
- Participating in site inspections and audits to observe and document geotechnical hazards.
- Maintaining and updating visual risk communication tools.
- Supporting rock sampling and testing programs under supervision.
- Contributing to back-analyzing rockfalls and slope failures using site data.
- Preparing reports and presentations on geotechnical observations and findings.
- Engaging in safety training, toolbox talks, and ground awareness sessions with site teams.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geology degree, or similar.
- Some experience with relevant software and systems through studies or placements is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills across verbal, written, numerical, and graphical formats.
- Ability to uphold high work standards and build strong relationships with peers and leaders.
- Ability to work independently to meet personal and team goals.
- Valid manual driver's licence.
- Willingness to live and work remotely.
- Flights or reimbursement of travel expenses at the beginning and end of the program.
- Residential housing provided.
- Transport to site arranged.
- All necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) supplied.
- Fast-tracked entry into the graduate program for successful participants.
- Comprehensive support throughout the program.
- Hands-on experience through on-the-job learning.
- Mentorship from experienced technical leaders.
- Participation in operational and personal development training.
- Ownership of real projects with meaningful impact.
- Candidates who successfully complete the vacation program will be fast-tracked into the Evolution Mining graduate program.
- Exposure to diverse operational experiences and potential for long-term career growth within the company.
