What You'll Be Doing:

You will be a welcomed member of the Retirement team at Carolina, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference in residents' lives. As a Guest Attendant, you'll form a deep understanding of your residents and their living experience. You will build relationships with the residents and their family members, offering a variety of support options and program choices that enrich their daily health and well-being. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

How You'll Succeed:

  1. Provide Resident Supervision and Assistance:
    • Support residents with their activities of daily living including eating, dressing, hygiene and grooming as per residents' individual plans of care.
  2. Provide Resident Care and Services:
    • Answering all resident call bells and door alarms promptly and provides courteous service.
    • Ensures that residents' own personal grooming is appropriate and uniform/dress is clean, tidy and according to dress code.
    • Assist with transporting residents to and from their rooms, recreational activities, health office and dining room as required.
    • Provide ongoing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support; as well as oral and dental care.
    • Completing laundry and housekeeping duties as outlined by assignments.

Who You Are:

  • You are compassionate and dedicated to meaningful work that supports seniors in living life fully.
  • You are detail-oriented and have strong customer service skills and ability to effectively communicate with residents and staff.
  • You have 'Safe Serve' designation and one year experience in dining room service.
  • You have minimum grade 12 education.
  • You can work independently and/or as a member of a team.

What You Need to Know:

  • You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit.
  • You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check. Applicable to British Columbia applicants.
