Mental Health and Research Team Overview

The Mental Health and Research team at Comcare plays a pivotal role in the delivery of evidence-based innovative programs and initiatives that shape how we promote and enable safe and healthy work, including mentally healthy workplaces.

Our team collaborates closely across the business and with external stakeholders to conduct and translate research, aiming to create a positive impact for the Scheme.

Assistant Director, Research and Engagement Role

This leadership role involves overseeing and managing cutting-edge research programs and initiatives for the Comcare scheme. The Assistant Director will ensure the effective use of data and evidence-based approaches in developing, monitoring, evaluating, translating, and promoting applied research.

The position has a strong focus on cultivating and maintaining internal and external senior stakeholder relationships to facilitate successful knowledge translation and achievement of outcomes that inform better practice across the scheme.

Key Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in research and/or relevant health field are mandatory.
  • Experience with research synthesis and data analysis, including the use of SPSS and Qualtrics, is also required.
  • Previous experience working within work health and safety and/or workers' compensation fields is desirable.

Eligibility and Specific Conditions of Employment

  • A character clearance (Australian Criminal History Check) is necessary.
  • An employee health declaration is also required.
  • New employees are subject to a six-month probationary period.
  • Specific conditions include:
    • Intra and interstate travel may be required, including overnight absences.
