We are seeking a Senior or Principal Mechanical Building Services professional to lead a diverse team and apply hands-on industry expertise.

This role is ideal for individuals with extensive and broad experience across the mechanical building services discipline, who are well-organized and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.

We are looking for a Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Adelaide to support a variety of multidisciplined projects nationally.

Position Overview:

This position will support the delivery of HVAC engineering for projects locally and nationally, requiring experience in detailed design, consulting, or complex engineering projects from the buildings sector. The successful candidate will have the ability to handle a wide variety of challenging projects, spanning building HVAC, industrial gases, and industrial ventilation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading the building services mechanical project team on large-scale projects.
  • Organizing, executing, coordinating, mentoring, and coaching the team, undertaking complex engineering tasks.
  • Applying advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes.
  • Contributing to and performing designs, preparing specifications.
  • Operating within KBR's quality management system.
  • Discussing and negotiating critical issues within the discipline both internally and with external stakeholders.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Accredited Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent recognized discipline.
  • Significant practical design experience with knowledge of local industry standards and codes.
  • Experience leading a multidisciplinary project team and mentoring team members.
  • Experience in preparing and verifying design calculations, guiding designers and drafters, and reviewing drawings.
  • Proven ability to manage projects to scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing reports and technical specifications.
  • Ability to liaise with clients, authorities, and other consultants.
  • Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or eligibility to apply for this accreditation.
  • Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain Defence clearance.
