We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Officer to join our dynamic team on a part-time basis. We can offer flexibility in days of work and hours to support a strong work-life balance.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of payroll processing to ensure our employees are paid accurately and on time. This role is crucial in maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency of our business.

1. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement new processes to assist Finance Manager to streamline the payroll function to gain operation efficiencies.
2. Process payroll for all employees, ensuring efficiency, accuracy and compliance with federal and state laws.
3. Maintain and update payroll records with the assistance of the People and Culture Team.
4. Process employee timesheets daily and investigate any time discrepancies.
5. Monitor the payroll inbox, answering any employee queries as they arise.
6. Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management.
7. Collaborate with the P&C and Finance team to ensure seamless payroll operations.
8. Stay updated with Australian employment law to ensure compliance.
9. Manage payroll audits and coordinate with external auditors as required.
10. Assist with the maintenance of the payroll system (Employment Hero).

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business administration or related field preferred.
2. Must have experience using Employment Hero (HRIS system).
3. Minimum of 3 years proven experience as a Payroll Officer.
4. In-depth knowledge of payroll procedures, laws and best practice.
5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to pick up on errors.
6. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
