Our Wagerup Refinery is looking for a qualified and experienced Residue Civil Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. The role offers a day shift Monday through Friday, with one leisure day every four weeks, promoting work-life balance.

Your main duties will include inspecting, risk assessing, scoping, and maintaining the infrastructure tailings and related assets at Wagerup. Responsibilities include:

  • Inspecting infrastructure assets and assessing their condition.
  • Risk assessing, prioritising, and advising on fitness for use or temporary controls to ensure safety and facilitate repairs.
  • Developing scopes of work, including design, sketches, and steps for repairs and modifications.
  • Reviewing structural reports and drawings, performing calculations, and advising on risks, temporary controls, and repair priorities.
  • Responding to technical queries during tendering or construction phases.
  • Reviewing work methods to ensure alignment with scope of work.
  • Providing advice on structural integrity or defects as needed.
  • Managing an annual embankment construction capital project.

What you can bring to the role
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering; postgraduate studies are advantageous.
  • Postgraduate business or project management qualifications are favorable.
  • Relevant experience in the mining, metals, or mineral processing industry, with strong technical expertise.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of AS1170, AS4100, and AS3600 standards.
  • Working at heights certification is advantageous.
