Job Description

We are seeking experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners who have current suitability at the Core or Proficient level - as confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safegaurd Commission.

This is a great opportunity to use your Positive Behaviour Support skills to evaluate, develop and deliver evidence-based support plans within a complex support space. This role will ensure individual plans reflect our NDIS participants' passions and interests and promotes their quality of life. Whilst doing so you will also build the knowledge, capacity and strengths of all those who are important to the participant.

Successful candidates will be providing supports to NDIS participants living in the NSW Central Coast region (depending on where you live).

Responsibilities Will Include
  • Assisting NDIS participants, along with their families and/or carers, to identify their needs through assessment and person-centred planning.
  • Evaluating, developing and delivering evidence-based support plans within a complex support space.
  • Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive behaviour support framework, and with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices, in the home and community.
  • Ensuring individual plans reflect our NDIS participants' goals, passions and strengths, as well as ensuring they get more out of life.
  • Building the knowledge, capacity and strengths of those who support participants in their lives - family, carers, friends, etc.
  • Acting as an advocate and role model for best practice.
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

To be considered suitable you will have:
  • Current suitability - confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission - at the Core or Proficient level as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
  • Completed a degree level qualification as an allied health professional.
  • Report writing experience.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload.
  • Proactive attitude, motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas.
  • Genuine passion for working in the disability sector.
  • To be successful in this role, you will be solution focused, highly organised and possess exceptional people skills. You will be passionate about what you do and pride yourself on delivering exceptional customer service.
