Job Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to support our team at Mackay, Queensland. Local candidates are preferred for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage the installation, maintenance, and inspection of structural, mechanical, and piping systems.
  • Ensure all work meets project specifications, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Review contract and specification to develop methodology and staffing requirements to meet or exceed contracted requirements.
  • Ensure equipment and materials are delivered at specified times to conform to work schedule and contract requirements.
  • Direct and coordinate personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases to prevent delays.
  • Resolves complaints and grievances within the workforce through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers of equipment and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to contract specifications and the construction schedule is adhered to.
  • Prepare or review reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjust work schedules as indicated by reports.
  • Responsible for safety performance on the worksite and liaises with head office management to obtain assistance and advice where required.
  • Ensure quality requirements, including MDR requirements, are completed.
  • Other duties as required and agreed between the Company and the Appointed Person.
  • Control expenditure within limitations of contract budgets.
  • Manage variations and prepare claims.
  • Prepare interim and completion project progress and financial reports.
  • Ensure all incidents are reported in a timely and effective manner.
  • Carry out effective incident investigations to identify root causes.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of working experience in supervisor structural, mechanical, and piping projects is required for this position.
  • Proven experience in managing site operations and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Experience with utilizing SAP software is advantageous.
