Technical Solutions Manager

Location: Remote (AU-based preferred)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Role Summary

We're looking for a Technical Solutions Manager who thrives at the intersection of business needs and software delivery. You'll act as a trusted advisor to clients and a guide to our development team, scoping, planning, and translating solutions that balance speed, quality, and commercial outcomes.

This role is key to bridging the gap between clients and offshore developers. You'll help shape technical approaches, clarify requirements, and ensure that project outcomes align with business goals and expectations.

• Developers are clear on what needs to be built, why, and how
• Projects are accurately estimated and delivered with minimal rework or scope creep
• Sales efforts are supported with technically sound, commercially viable solutions
• You become the go-to person for aligning client needs with delivery capability

How This Role Fits Into the Organisation

As a Technical Solutions Manager, you'll sit between Sales, Delivery, and Clients. You'll work closely with account leads, project managers, and offshore developers to ensure smooth transitions from opportunity to execution. Your input will shape the feasibility and success of every engagement we take on.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with clients to understand technical and business requirements
• Translate client needs into clear, actionable documentation for developers
• Collaborate with PMs to produce project scopes, timelines, and resource plans
• Lead solution architecture decisions for new projects, ensuring feasibility and scalability
• Provide technical input during sales conversations and proposal development
• Review developer estimates for completeness, accuracy, and risk
• Act as a point of escalation for technical clarifications during delivery
• Support QA and UAT efforts by aligning solution intent with output
• Continuously improve delivery templates, estimation models, and onboarding documentation
  

Qualifications

Skills & Experience

• 7+ years' experience in software development, ideally across multiple roles (e.g. dev, lead, architect)
• 2+ years in a client-facing technical leadership role (e.g. Solutions Manager, Architect, or PM)
• Strong understanding of modern software development practices (Agile, CI/CD, SDLC)
• Proven ability to produce high-quality documentation, specs, and estimates
• Comfortable working with distributed/offshore teams and asynchronous workflows
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills

Bonus (Not Required)

• Familiarity with offshore delivery models
• Experience working in a start-up or lean environment
• Background in .NET or web-based development stacks
• Understanding of cloud architecture (e.g. Azure, AWS)
