About the role:

Our client is looking for candidates with a strong background in Java development for and Mainframe / Legacy software maintenance. You should have experience with system improvement and incident/problem resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain existing legacy Java applications.
  • Optimize applications to extend usability and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct testing and provide end-user support for legacy systems.
  • Ticket in-depth analysis, trouble-shooting, problem resolution
  • Operational monitoring, alerting and tuning
  • Proactively providing innovative solutions in accordance with modern technologies
  • Build and maintain relationships with and advise various levels of stakeholders
  • 24/7 application support
  • Problem Solving/ Troubleshooting

The Successful Candidate

Candidates should possess one or more of the following additional skills:

At least 3-5 years' experience in the following:

  • XML/ XMLT knowledge/ skills
  • Experience developing in, and supporting mainframe environments
  • Automation experience using REXX is desirable
  • Being able to adapt to New Ways of Working (NWoW) techniques with Agile practices – JIRA, Confluence, Kanban, SPRINT, etc
  • Application control of mainframe architecture middleware and tooling
  • Exposure to batch technology from technical development perspective

Candidates must be an Australian Citizen and either hold, or be eligible to obtain a baseline security clearance.
