About the opportunity

  • Undertake supported Graduate Diploma in Critical Care (Adult Intensive Care) 2026 Intake.
  • Be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team providing exceptional patient-focused care.

The Graduate Certificate in Critical Care is an employment model with paid study leave that will see you providing direct patient care to critically ill patients within the Intensive Care Unit with a wide range of conditions.

It includes a transition to ICU (November - January) with the course undertaken over 1 year, for the 2026 academic intake. A recruitment process for ongoing employment will be undertaken post successful completion of the course.

You will learn through bedside teaching, weekly tutorials and dedicated study days. An extensive clinical practice portfolio will support your learning, as well as periods of supernumerary time as you progress as an Intensive Care Nurse. You will enrol in the postgraduate certificate of Critical Care Nursing course at our partner University, with the option to exit after the first year with a Graduate Certificate in Critical Care, or continue to study for the Diploma and Masters.

Opportunity to apply for some hospital-based scholarships to assist with tuition fees.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or be in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Current proof of influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
