The role
- Full Time, Fixed Term (up to 2 years 7 months)
- Job share arrangement may be considered
- Level B – AUD $113,841 to $134,965 p.a. (plus 17% superannuation)
- Bathurst and Griffith NSW (with regular travel)
As the Research Fellow (One Basin CRC), you will be providing support to the project team facilitating a major research project entitled 'Future Basin Economies: Innovative Approaches to Design and Deliver Economic Investments Wanted by Basin Communities'.
The project team collaborates with local Murray–Darling Basin communities facing significant pressures from change, who are seeking meaningful diversification of their local economies to help offset the impacts of declining water resources. This role is responsible for assisting the Project Lead and other chief investigators in all aspects of the research project, including:
- Organising and recruiting community participants for workshops, interviews, and surveys, and assisting in developing related materials.
- Preparing scientific papers, literature reviews, conference papers, case-study summaries, and other project-related documentation and processes in collaboration with team members.
- Providing research project support, including project administration and reporting, internal and external communications and organising project events.
This position involves substantial time spent at the Griffith, NSW Hub of the One Basin CRC, and conducting research activity in outer regional case study locations, so ability to travel is an essential part of this role.
About you
- A doctoral qualification relevant to economics, business or a related discipline, with a record of research or professional activity which demonstrates an ability to make an autonomous contribution.
- Demonstrated experience in organising and recruiting participants for workshops, conducting in-depth interviews and surveys, and competently analysing data.
- Demonstrated experience in writing research publications, conference papers and reports.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster strong stakeholder relationships
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and independently in a large academic setting.
