
Occupational Therapist

MSWA is seeking passionate Occupational Therapists to join the Rockingham centre in Western Australia. You will deliver comprehensive OT services for individuals living with neurological conditions, including Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Parkinson's, Huntington's, Stroke, and Acquired Brain Injuries. You'll work with clients to develop personalised interventions, empower them to achieve their goals, and enhance their independence in daily life. You'll help manage complex symptoms such as fatigue, sleep disturbance, cognitive changes, thermoregulation, upper limb and hand dysfunction, and introduce advanced assistive technology to improve quality of life.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive OT assessments across settings (homes, workplaces) addressing daily living, physical, sensory, and cognitive needs.
- Collaborate with clients, families, and external stakeholders (including equipment suppliers) to design and implement interventions and facilitate equipment provision.
- Navigate funding models to ensure clients receive the equipment they need.
- Provide sensitive and competent care to clients requiring palliative care, ensuring dignity and comfort in their final stages.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date client records for high-quality, continuous care.
- Mentor OT students, OTAs, and volunteers, contributing to the development of future professionals.
- Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy (or equivalent).
- Current registration with AHPRA.
- Valid Australian C Class Driver's License (unrestricted).
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification (we can assist if needed).
