Join to apply for the Teacher - Humanities and Social Sciences role at the Department of Education, Western Australia. We are seeking to establish a pool of Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Please note that as of Friday, 29 September 2025, the tenure of this pool has changed.
This position is being advertised as part of a recruitment pilot designed to simplify the application process for teachers. A mandatory CV template is provided for use. Application requirements include character limited responses to address only 2 Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) domains at application stage. The remaining AITSL domain will be assessed as part of the further assessment stage, for shortlisted applicants only.

The SchoolAveley Secondary College (SC) opened in 2018 and is a large secondary school catering for Years 7 to 12 in Perth's Swan Valley. The College is recognised as a school of choice with high expectations and standards, a progressive approach and a commitment to excellence.
Teaching and learning at the College are a focus (with Explicit Direct Instruction, the signature pedagogy) supported by a rigorous behaviour curriculum and systems to support conditions for learning in the classroom.
