About the Role

At Sportsbet, we move fast, think big, and design experiences that bring excitement to life - responsibly. Our app is one of the most used in Australia, and we're passionate about making it not only fast and reliable, but cohesive, intuitive, and crafted to the highest standard.

That's where you come in.

We're looking for a Design Systems Designer to help us evolve, scale, and advocate for SONIC, our design system powering the Sportsbet experience. If you love turning complexity into clarity, thrive on the details of UI, and enjoy bridging the worlds of design and engineering, this is the role for you.

As the Design Systems Designer, you'll play a hands-on role in building robust, accessible components in Figma, maintaining our documentation, and supporting product squads to deliver with quality and consistency. You'll be part of a tight-knit team responsible for evolving our system's structure, visual language, and contribution model.

This role reports to the Manager, Design Systems, and sits within our Product Design team.

Day to day you will
  • Design, prototype, and maintain scalable UI components in Figma.
  • Ensure accessibility, responsiveness, and visual consistency across platforms.
  • Manage and evolve our component libraries and documentation using tools like Zeroheight.
  • Partner with engineers to ensure clean handover from Figma to code.
  • Support product designers to apply system patterns and uphold standards.
  • Promote adoption of SONIC through demos, updates, and education.
  • Monitor system usage and proactively improve usability and performance.
  • Continuously explore new tools, trends, and methods to keep SONIC best-in-class.
About You
  • Mastery of Figma, especially in creating flexible, interactive components.
  • UX/UI/Product Design background with recent experience working on design systems (dedicated or embedded in product teams).
  • Experience managing libraries and design tokens, with strong visual design skills.
  • Familiarity with design documentation platforms like Zeroheight or equivalent.
  • Ability to explain system rationale and advocate for consistency across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Skilled at seeking and integrating feedback from designers and developers.
  • A user-centred, scalable approach to solving problems.
  • A learning mindset: open to feedback, change, and new ideas.
  • Experience working in cross-functional squads in an Agile environment.
Why You'll Love Working Here

Along with a competitive salary and generous performance-based bonus, here are some of our other benefits:

  • 25 days annual leave
  • Genuine flexible working policy
  • $1050 work-from-home allowance to set up your home office
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Program and a Circle In membership
  • Access to outstanding career development programs, including expert-led internal training and external learning opportunities
  • Weekly concierge service including free massages, facials and nail appointments - all onsite
  • Free coffee, daily fresh fruit, breakfast provisions and Kombucha on tap in the office
  • Weekly rotating socials, from Thursday drinks to coffee carts and fun team events
  • End of trip facilities with onsite table tennis and pool tables
  • Generous parental leave and return-to-work benefits
