Job Title: In-House Construction Lawyer

BESIX Watpac is seeking an in-house Construction Lawyer to work closely with the Commercial Manager on commercial, contractual and legal matters.

Key Responsibilities

This role involves:

  • Supporting the Commercial Manager with tender, contract negotiation and dispute resolution discussions.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating subcontracts and consultant agreements.
  • Preparing special conditions for BESIX Watpac's template suite of agreements.
  • Reviewing proposed departures by subcontractors, suppliers and consultants.
  • Managing disputes, claims and litigation by gathering evidence and preparing legal documents.
Requirements

The successful candidate will require:

  • A degree in law and current Queensland practising certificate.
  • 2-3 years PQE with experience in Construction Law within a law firm.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate autonomously using initiative and sound reasoning.
