About The Position
We're seeking a Chef de Partie to help bring creativity, passion for exceptional cuisine, and hands-on expertise with modern and traditional Japanese techniques to the forefront.
- Team up with our Executive Chef to design and plan menus that celebrate Japanese flavours and seasonal ingredients.
- Mastermind food and labour costs, oversee stock takes, and manage kitchen orders like a pro.
- Monitor every step of dish prep and presentation, ensuring every plate shines with Òra's signature finesse.
- Prepare and cook dishes to an exceptional standard, thrilling diners with every bite.
- Uphold and enforce stringent cleanliness and sanitation measures—because a spotless kitchen equals a flawless dining experience.
- Develop and train a passionate kitchen team, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.
- At least 3 years in a high-volume, casual fine dining role, plus a Certificate IV (or equivalent) in Commercial Cookery.
- Punctual, honest, and committed—qualities we value deeply at Òra.
- Thrive in a collaborative setting, knowing that culinary magic happens when everyone works in harmony.
- Familiar with rostering, COGs, P&Ls, and all those behind-the-scenes essentials that keep a bustling kitchen running smoothly.
- Knowledge of both modern and traditional techniques, plus a love for showcasing authentic flavours.
- You're a natural at engaging with guests, calmly handling a busy open kitchen, and always looking polished and professional.
- Ready to roll with the demands of nights, weekends, and public holidays in a fast-paced environment.
