Overview

Livestock SA is looking for a new Member & Communications Manager to deliver strategic communications, member engagement activities and management of the CRM database. This role plays a key part in maintaining the organisation's visibility, supporting advocacy priorities and ensuring high-quality service and information to members. This parental leave position is offered as a full-time, one-year contract.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Deliver Livestock SA's communications strategy across digital, print and media channels
  • Develop and write media releases, newsletters and other communications to engage stakeholders and promote key messages
  • Manage social media accounts and maintain the organisation's website
  • Coordinate media opportunities and manage event communications
  • Adhere to the organisation's style guide when producing branded collateral
  • Monitor relevant news and policy developments that may impact members
  • Prepare communication reports and analytics for the Board and CEO
  • Collaborate with staff and stakeholders to identify and create meaningful content
  • Manage membership enquiries and support producers with information and services
  • Manage and maintain the CRM membership database
  • Support recruitment and retention of members through tailored communications
  • Manage and distribute membership materials and surveys
  • Represent the organisation professionally in dealings with members, media, and stakeholders
  • Participate in team meetings, strategic planning, and industry events as required
Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrated professional experience and qualifications in communications, media, or marketing
  • Strong written, visual and verbal communication skills with a high level of accuracy in writing, editing and formatting content
  • High-level proficiency with website CMSs, social media platforms, and CRM systems
  • Ability to prioritise and manage competing tasks under minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of agriculture and rural issues (livestock industry preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong, professional relationships with members, media and partners
  • Experience in writing media releases, newsletters and social media posts
  • Drivers licence
