As Senior Engineering Manager - Chapter Lead in Workflow, you will be responsible for leading engineers that report to you, instilling a growth mindset and innovative ways of working. You will also be hands on to lead ongoing change and development for the workflow solutions and provide technology oversight to different business units. You also have the opportunity to share your technical expertise and leadership to strengthen the standards of the team that spans across multiple geographies.

• Have demonstrated experience in leading high-performing cross-functional engineering teams
• Collaborate with a team of high performing engineers to build and deploy multiple technology solutions that will help in defining current and future states, as well as the roadmap
• Hands-on ability to design and deliver technology solutions that solve complex business and technology problems from start to finish
• Have demonstrated experience in translating the project vision into actionable plans and iterative delivery
• Constructively challenges the status quo while influencing stakeholders at various levels
• Influences the future of the Group's technology and direction every day

Technical Skills

• Hands-on engineering manager that can lead software engineers in building cloud scalable platforms.
• Expertise with API specification, design, registration and tooling (OpenAPI, AWS Gateway).
• CI/CD: experience with automated pipelines (GitHub Actions, Artifactory and GitRepo).
• DevOps: Familiarity with observability tools (Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, PagerDuty).
• Language: C#, .NET Core, SOAP/REST APIs, Microservices, containerisation; Node, Python and scripting knowledge.
• Artificial Intelligence: knowledge in AI technologies and tooling enhancements.
• Data engineering: building a data lake with real-time and near real-time services, data transformation, aggregation, and offering through API endpoints.
• Test Automation: unit/integration/acceptance/performance testing for API.
• Security: defence in depth, identity management, encryption, and cloud security obligations.
• Distributed, low latency environments; Databases: PostgreSQL, Oracle, NoSQL (MongoDB).
• Familiarity in event-driven architectures (Kafka, MQ) and orchestration (Apache Camel, Temporal, Mulesoft)

• Prioritise work that supports engineers to be productive and autonomous.
• An evangelist for engineering principles, practices and standards.
• Be responsible for the strategic technology direction for the team, including managing code.
• Manage workforce planning and staff retention, cultivating a safe and trusted working environment.
• You are able to manage relationships and communications with project stakeholders, including customers and delivery teams. Along with vendors and third-party suppliers.
• Champion thought leadership for the process architecture and develop options for improving and updating current capability.
• Act as an escalation, advice, and decision-making point for Workflow Solutions.
• Review and contribute to reference architecture and platform initiative involving workflow.
• Monitor emerging technologies, industry developments, directions, and best practices.
• Provide specialised expertise and development using C#, Python, Java.
• Analysing systems to provide system support and recommendations for development.
• Expert troubleshooting of implementation, environment and deployment issues.
• Establish new ways of working and promote DevOps culture of CI/CD pipelines and Automation supported by world-class tools.
• Have expertise in managing any workflow based technical environments (preferably Pega, Appian).
• Expertise to define and effectively communicate a long-term technical vision.
• Excellent communication skills. Working experience with Agile methodologies.
