Overview

Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer role at Verbrec Ltd based in Brisbane. This full-time, permanent position offers the opportunity to directly influence the transition to renewable energy systems and decarbonisation within a growing ASX-listed company (ASX: VBC).

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Electrical & Instrumentation engineering delivery, ensuring safety, quality and alignment with Verbrec and client standards.
  • Work from initial concept through the coordination of detailed design to installation and commissioning.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to produce engineering deliverables and meet project milestones.
  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery and effective risk management.
  • Occasionally perform on-site activities; predominantly office-based with some site exposure as required.
  • Contribute to safe, innovative solutions for materials handling and water infrastructure projects, and support mining and hydrocarbon clients as applicable.
Qualifications
  • Relevant (10+ years) electrical and instrumentation engineering experience.
  • Design exposure to LV and HV distribution systems, including motor control centres and switchboards.
  • RPEQ registration is required.
  • Experience with PTW and eTap is preferred but not essential.
  • PLC and Remote IO control system design experience.
  • Material handling and process plant instrumentation design experience.
  • Layout design including cable routing, equipment layouts and substation layouts.
  • Exposure to open pit and underground mining electrical infrastructure design.
  • HV and LV power system modelling and protection design (preferred).
  • Experience in mining, oil & gas, water and infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience generating study reports, scopes of work, equipment specifications and datasheets.
  • Experience generating engineering estimates and quotations.
  • Strong focus on safety in design (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects with conflicting deadlines.
  • Ability to deliver projects on time, on budget and to Verbrec and client standards.
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Role predominantly office-based but willing to occasionally work onsite.
  • Degree or equivalent in Electrical, Instrument and Control or Mechatronics (mandatory).
