Overview

Maitland City Council is seeking a Building Projects Officer to join the Building Services Team to support the coordination of service and building contracts and projects. Location: Maitland, New South Wales. Status: full-time, permanent.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate service and building contracts and building projects.
  • Support the operations of Council's building services functions with a customer-focused approach.
  • Oversee the inspection of buildings and facilities and make recommendations for repair and maintenance works.
  • Coordinate and supervise reactive and scheduled maintenance works; undertake and supervise emergency works when required.
  • Contribute to small-scale commercial building construction projects and maintenance, ensuring work aligns with approved design, plans, specifications, budget allocations and time constraints.
  • Manage projects that may include refurbishments, alterations and additions to Council buildings (including sporting facilities, aquatic centres, administration and operational facilities, community buildings and heritage buildings).
About You
  • Trade qualification (Certificate IV) and/or tertiary qualification in Building and Construction.
  • Solid experience in construction and project management.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple contractors for several small-scale projects within defined budgets and timeframes.
  • Mindful of WH&S for all stakeholders and experienced with multiple databases and systems.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities to engage multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Benefits
  • Full-time, permanent position with a base salary range of $91,165 to $101,193 per year (based on demonstrated experience).
  • Commuter use vehicle and 12% superannuation.
  • 38 hours per week (Monday to Friday).
