Role Overview

As a Leasing Lawyer within Sentinel Property Group Legal (SPGL), you will play a crucial role in providing expert legal advice and support across our commercial, retail, and industrial leasing portfolio. Working under the guidance of the Legal Director, you will manage complex leasing transactions while ensuring compliance with legal requirements and supporting junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the drafting, negotiation, and finalisation of lease agreements across our diverse property portfolio
2. Provide strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders on leasing matters and statutory requirements
3. Manage lease-related disputes and represent the organisation in legal proceedings when necessary
4. Develop and implement leasing strategies aligned with corporate objectives
5. Ensure compliance with relevant property laws and regulations
6. Mentor junior legal staff and provide training on leasing matters
7. Collaborate with Property Management, Leasing, and Development teams to support business growth

Skills & Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in law with a current Queensland Practising Certificate
2. Minimum 2 years post-admission experience (PAE)
3. Substantial experience in commercial and retail property law
4. Strong track record in managing complex leasing transactions
5. Post-graduate qualifications in property law (desirable)
6. Exceptional analytical and negotiation skills
7. Outstanding communication abilities and commercial acumen
8. Proven leadership capabilities and attention to detail
