We have anopportunity for a Service Desk Technician with 1–2 years ofexperience to join our Technology team, based in our Canberraoffice.

As anexperienced Service Desk Technician, you will provide systemssupport nationally and desktop support for the CanberraOffice. You will act as the first point of contact toefficiently investigate, resolve and provide a high level ofcustomer service for a variety of technology related servicerequests. You will be required to be in the office full time(5 days per week).

This roleforms part of our national Technology team. The IT team at Hall& Wilcox has approximately 23 team members nationally. TheTechnology team at Hall & Wilcox is structured acrossengineering and development, application support, informationsecurity and service desk.

You will beresponsible for:

  • responding to userinquiries by following service desk procedures;
  • providing support acrossa range of hardware and software, at level 1 and level2;
  • ensuringall user requests are logged in service desksystem;
  • escalating more complexqueries;
  • coordinating the timelyprovision of service desk support services;
  • communicating to usersas to the progress of their inquiries from receipt to closureof the call;
  • advisingusers about service desk and operational support facilities andprocedures;
  • identifying and advisingService Delivery Manager/IT Manager of recurrent userinquiries;
  • updatingand maintaining the call-log to ensure accurate recording ofall calls received;
  • attending court tosafely and securely download subpoenaed (and similar) documentsproduced by court;
  • ensuringall portal storage devices are barcoded, scanned for malware,and registered in line with the firm's portable storagedevices process;
  • ensuringdata contained on portable storage devices is securelydownloaded and deleted in line with the firm's portablestorage device process; and
  • providing back up toother Service Desk Technicians and broader Technology team asrequired.

Aboutyou

You willideally have the following skills and experience:

  • at least1 year of experience as a Service Desk Technician or in asimilar role within a professional servicesenvironment;
  • tertiaryqualification in Information Technology or a relateddiscipline;
  • strongorganisational skills;
  • excellent verbal andwritten communication skills;
  • self-motivated,decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competingdemands; and
  • abilityto work well independently as well as productively within ateam.
