This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent or Fixed Term Part Time appointments at 32 hours per fortnight, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. An opportunity exists for a talented and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Community Health Team in the Midwest.

Position Profile

The Clinical Nurse Specialist – Community Health is responsible for the coordination of primary health care for vulnerable children and families within the community setting, collaborates and advocates with key stakeholders within and outside the region. Collects data and prepares reports for specific child health projects. Acts as a role model and consultant to nurses and other health service providers providing knowledge, clinical expertise and best practice within area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Significant clinical knowledge, experience, and leadership in Community health nursing.
• Demonstrated knowledge of cultural factors and social determinants particularly relating to Aboriginal health.
• Advanced interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills in a multidisciplinary team.

The WA Country Health Service Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives on fixed term or permanent contracts at eligible locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months. Area Profile

The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) Midwest health region covers more than 470,000 square kilometres, nearly one fifth of the State, with its population concentrated along the coast. The region is located in the northern middle section of Western Australia and incorporates three health districts - Gascoyne, Geraldton, Midwest and Murchison. It is a culturally diverse region with Aboriginal people representing 13% of the overall population.
