AIM Care Support and Services, a leading aged care service provider, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant in Nursing (AIN) to join our team.
Responsibilities- Provide compassionate assistance with daily personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Assist elderly residents with mobility needs, including transferring and positioning to ensure comfort and safety.
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document accurately.
- Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and tidying to maintain a clean and organised living environment.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities and conversations to promote mental alertness and emotional well-being.
- Monitor and report changes in residents\' health status to nursing staff or supervisors promptly.
- Accompany residents to medical appointments and outings, ensuring safe transportation and support.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, including daily activities, observations, and any incidents or concerns.
- Foster a respectful and supportive environment that upholds the dignity and independence of each resident.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, healthcare professionals, and family members to coordinate care plans.
- Respond calmly and promptly to emergency situations, following established protocols to ensure resident safety.
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability, or Home and Community Care).
- First Aid Certificate, including CPR.
- National Police Check clearance.
- Working with Children Check (depending on the role).
- Compassion and empathy in caring for elderly and disabled individuals.
- Ability to assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and daily living activities.
- Proficiency in using mobility aids and assisting with mobility.
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations in aged care settings.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and shifts.
- Patience, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility towards client care.
- Respect for client dignity, privacy, and cultural diversity.
