Role: Italian Secondary Teacher

Organization: Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) / St Francis Catholic College

Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Start: Commencing in 2026. This is a full-time ongoing position.

Role Description

St Francis Catholic College is a co-educational, multi-campus secondary school governed by MACS. The College is expanding and aims to provide strong learning and wellbeing programs in a faith-filled environment. The successful applicant will contribute to Catholic education and support student growth across Year 7–12.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver Italian teaching to secondary students across appropriate year levels.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with staff, students, parents/guardians, and the broader school community.
  • Apply effective planning, communication, decision-making and negotiation skills.
  • Utilise best practices in teaching and learning and lead by example in managing people and resources.
  • Contribute to building capacity in others and supporting student engagement and achievement.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification.
  • A strong commitment to Catholic education.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional and caring relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to create an engaging, educational, and challenging learning environment that caters to all students.
  • Willingness to learn and apply a differentiated curriculum; proficient use of modern technology to support learning.
Special Requirements
  • Commitment to safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of all children; demonstrate understanding of providing a safe environment for children.
  • Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration (or ability to obtain).
  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school is preferred.
  • Provide contact details of two referees.
