John Fawkner Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to join our team in the Day Oncology Ward. You will play a key role within a supportive team to ensure our patients have a great experience whilst we care for them.
As a Nurse Unit Manager you will provide clinical leadership to the Oncology ward to support the strategic direction, operational processes and quality management of all patients. You will coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based, and be accountable for the effective daily management of human, financial, and material resources.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership to the Oncology ward to compliment the strategic direction, operational processes and quality management of all patients.
- Provide clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based.
- Be accountable for the effective daily management of human, financial, and material resources.
- Current Registration with AHPRA
- Working with Children check
- Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent (min. 3 years)
- Compliance with ACSQHC National standards
- A strong commitment to developing in a management role
- Computer literacy including MS Office and various databases
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
- Proven time management and prioritisation skills
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management
- Demonstrated HR management experience
John Fawkner Private Hospital is a fully accredited 186-bed acute care facility providing a comprehensive range of surgical, medical, cancer and critical care services. Applicants will be required to provide a current National Police check, Working with Children Check (where applicable) and evidence of right to work in Australia prior to appointment. Staff in patient contact roles will be required to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases as a Category A Healthcare worker.
