Senior Platform Engineer Role at Parity Consulting

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Platform Engineer to lead and support our technology operations team, ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our technology infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Guide, support, and mentor the technology operations team members.
  • Risk Management: Assess, communicate, and manage risks associated with the technology infrastructure and operational tasks.
  • Vendor Liaison: Liaise with vendors, outsourcers, and consultants to manage contracts and service agreements, ensuring quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Technology Benchmarking: Benchmark, analyze, and make recommendations for the improvement of technology infrastructure and systems.
  • Policies and Procedures: Develop, implement, and enforce technology policies and procedures, including security, disaster recovery, and service provision, within an appropriate governance framework.
  • Incident Management: Manage incident, request, change, configuration, and release management processes.
  • Problem Investigation: Investigate problems proactively and reactively to identify root causes and implement solutions.
  • System Maintenance: Maintain and upgrade systems, equipment, and software to ensure optimal performance.
  • Technology Design: Design and document technology solutions in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, or IT operations.
  • Tech Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of contemporary technology architectures, including networks, security, hardware, protocols, and industry standards.
  • Leadership: Prior experience in leading a team is highly regarded.
  • Emerging Tech: Willingness to embrace emerging technologies and assess their relevance to the business environment.
  • Australian Working Rights: Must have full Australian working rights.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS/Azure/GCP, ITIL, CISSP, CCNP, or equivalent).
  • Cloud Experience: Experience in cloud platforms, automation, and DevOps methodologies.
