Position Objective
The Engineering Coordinator is responsible for providing technical oversight of water infrastructure across the Central Tablelands Water service area, ensuring proper asset management and consideration of future infrastructure needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain CTW's Asset Management Plan (AMP).
- Develop and maintain asset management frameworks and registers, capturing condition assessments and end-of-life timeframes.
- Process forms, plans, and values for project components to inform the asset register.
- Ensure the Metrix system and Asset Register are maintained and accessible to staff.
- Assist in improving and maintaining policies and procedures related to assets and project management.
- Develop, maintain, and lead frameworks for SCADA, telemetry, and other systems across CTW.
- Contribute to strategic improvements within the technical area.
- Develop strategies to meet and improve budget performance.
- Design, develop, and deliver projects effectively.
- Monitor and review the Renewable Energy Action Plan, enhancing CTW's green energy resources.
- Review development proposals and provide expert advice.
- Conduct detailed design and hydraulic assessments for current and future network and infrastructure needs.
- Participate actively in the Drinking Water Management System (DWMS).
- Assist the Executive Management Operations & Technical Services in reviewing systems and procedures in line with the Regulatory and Assurance Framework.
- Report on Local Government and regulatory requirements.
- Provide customer service and technical advice to staff and stakeholders.
- Review and monitor water loss management strategies.
- Assist in reviewing constituent Council settlement strategies for alignment with water management goals.
- Contribute to conditions of approval for development applications from constituent Councils.
- Maintain management plans and reporting related to Dam Safety.
- Collaborate with the Water Quality Manager and Network Operator Manager for asset development and maintenance updates.
- Oversee the Technical Officer, providing workflow guidance, advice, and conducting performance reviews.
Essential Criteria
- Class C Driver's license with a safe driving record.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar water utilities role within local government.
- Proven project management experience in engineering and asset renewal projects.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including emergency response leadership.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, and adaptability to new technologies.
- Strong analytical, strategic, research, and problem-solving skills with commercial acumen.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, build relationships, and maintain confidentiality.
- High-level communication skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, manage budgets, and engage stakeholders.
- Ability to prepare complex reports for Council and Government Authorities.
