The role sits within our Environment team, providing strategic and practical solutions to clients with environmental management challenges. We are seeking a Senior or Principal Terrestrial Ecologist with BAM accreditation to lead the Ecology practice across the NSW region. The role can be based in any NSW office with work-from-home and flexibility options. You will have the opportunity to grow as an industry leader through conference presentations, professional memberships and mentoring junior Ecologists.

• Provide advice to infrastructure and natural resource management projects for private and public sector clients.
• Lead and coordinate environmental surveys and impact assessments of terrestrial ecosystems (flora, fauna, biodiversity, habitat).
• Deliver environmental analyses, research and field surveys, and technical reports for clients.
• Participate in proposal and tender production; manage project delivery across the project lifecycle, including time, cost and quality.
• Establish and drive efficient delivery culture within Ecology; build and maintain client relationships on allocated projects and new opportunities.
• Support strategic planning and initiatives within the business unit; mentor and coach junior team members.
• Assist the BD Leader and others with opportunities and pursuits.

• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science and/or Ecology.
• Minimum of 5 years' post-graduate Ecology experience, ideally in consulting, construction, or regulatory environments.
• BAM accreditation (or working towards it).
• Demonstrated identification skills in NSW flora, fauna and ecological communities.
• Thorough knowledge of relevant NSW/ACT standards and legislation.
• Driver's license essential; 4WD experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to liaise with clients and develop junior staff; strong commercial acumen for project financials and business development.
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and promote collaboration.

Role includes both office and fieldwork; must be physically capable of fieldwork in remote areas for extended periods of time.
