Yancoal offers a 10–12-week paid summer vacation program providing hands-on experience and exposure to diverse mining careers.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working full-time during the summer break on assigned projects with ownership and responsibility.
  • Gaining industry experience by collaborating with and being mentored by industry experts.
  • Learning about technologies and software used to improve daily operations.
  • Applying classroom knowledge to understand responsible mining practices at Yancoal.
About You

The company is looking for candidates who:

  • Are currently in their 2nd to final year of university study.
  • Can work full-time during the summer break (10–12 weeks).
  • Are able to temporarily relocate to Yancoal mine sites across regional NSW or Queensland.
  • Are studying in one of the following disciplines: Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Sciences/Engineering, Geology, Process Engineering, or Surveying.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Paid internship for 10–12 weeks during summer break.
  • Accommodation, relocation, and uniform costs covered by Yancoal.
Training & Development
  • Opportunity to work alongside and be mentored by industry experts.
  • Exposure to a diverse range of careers within Yancoal.
Career Progression
  • Successful interns gain firsthand access to Yancoal's Graduate Program (if eligible) or may be invited to another vacation program.
