About the Property Council
The Property Council of Australia is the champion of Australia's largest industry that employs 1.4 million Australians and shapes the future of our cities. Our members include large and small companies which invest, own, manage and develop all forms of property as well as providers of professional services to the industry.
PositionA key leadership position within the Property Council. This role leads the co-ordination and delivery of the TAS Division's policy, advocacy, government relations and corporate communications activities, within the framework of the Property Council's robust member services and commercial programs.
Responsibilities- Be the public voice of the property industry in TAS.
- Develop and implement the TAS Division's business strategy and long-term goals to support strategic initiatives.
- Lead public debates on issues relevant to the industry.
- Be the chief advocate for the property industry in TAS.
- Develop policy positions, research and submissions to support industry interests.
- Develop and deliver advocacy and campaign strategies in support of our objectives.
- In partnership with Membership and Partnerships, put strategies in place to retain and attract members.
- Ensure there is a TAS event program which provides deep value to members and strong commercial returns to the Property Council.
- Make a strong positive contribution to the overall performance of the Property Council as a member of the Executive Committee and VIC/TAS leadership group.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in a similar leadership role.
- Recognised as a strategic and agile thinker with exceptional communication, interpersonal, negotiation and advocacy skills.
- Inclusive, high-performing leadership style demonstrated at senior levels in the public, private or not-for-profit sector.
- Superior experience of complex government, political and policy development processes.
- Significant advocacy and policy shaping credentials.
- Strong strategic and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain multiple strategic alliances and networks.
- Track record in developing a positive team culture founded on trust, collaboration, shared accountability and recognition.
- Tertiary education in politics, public affairs, economics, law, communications or similar.
