The Role

Splunk Security Solution Architects serve as subject matter experts for Splunk Security products and provide expertise in the broader security landscape. You will support Splunk account teams, including sales and pre-sales resources, to develop tailored security solutions for customers. Your role involves acting as the "eyes & ears" in the field, offering expert guidance to enhance the security and resilience of client organizations.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain valuable relationships with clients and partners.
  • Collaborate with account teams to understand sales strategies and support them through briefings, demos, proposals, Proof of Values (POVs), integrations, and issue resolution related to our security portfolio.
  • Engage with customers to understand their security architecture, infrastructure, and cyber security goals, aligning them with Splunk product capabilities.
  • Demonstrate Splunk's security products and services onsite, remotely via webinars, and at industry events like conferences and trade shows.
  • Respond to functional and technical queries in RFIs/RFPs.
  • Lead resolution of technical and integration challenges.
  • Be self-motivated with a proven track record in technical software sales and security technology knowledge.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including technical, non-technical, executive, and leadership teams, both in reports and presentations.

Requirements

  • Splunk Certified Administrator or sufficient knowledge to administer Splunk Enterprise and solutions.
  • 5+ years as a successful pre-sales engineer (SE), systems integrator, or equivalent experience in cybersecurity.
  • Familiarity with current cyber threats, malware, incident response practices, SIEM, automation tools, endpoint technologies, and threat intelligence.
  • Experience with installation, configuration, and administration of enterprise hardware and software, including Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of networking technologies such as firewalls, proxies, routing, and switching.
  • Experience with enterprise software like antivirus, email security, vulnerability management, TIP, and databases.
  • Proven experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages, particularly Python.
  • Industry certifications such as SANS GIAC, CISSP, CISM are highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with varied audiences.
