About the office

The Faculty of Education, Philosophy & Theology includes two National Schools: the National School of Education and the National School of Philosophy and Theology. The National Schools are based on two distinct campuses in Fremantle and Sydney.

About the role

As the Student Experience Manager, you will drive student experience initiatives, support the development of student engagement initiatives across the schools including partnerships with external entities, and support the development and coordination of overseas and domestic immersions for students. This position will partner with the Faculty Executive team, including the Executive Dean and National Heads of School, to enhance the student experience across the Faculty and report to the Faculty Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Align the Student Experience Plan: Create and implement a Student Experience plan that aligns with the University and Faculty's strategic goals and the program curriculum, ensuring all activities enhance student engagement.
  2. Oversee Immersions: Coordinate the logistics for both domestic and international immersions, collaborating with key stakeholders to provide enriching opportunities for students.
  3. Enhance Student Experience Through Activities: Plan and review Faculty and school-wide activities to improve the student experience, focusing on opportunities for industry and employer engagement.
  4. Feedback, Metrics, and Continuous Improvement: Collect and analyze student experience metrics and feedback, providing regular reports and actionable recommendations for ongoing improvement.
  5. Contribute to Policy Development: Help develop University policies, procedures, and guidelines that directly relate to student experience, ensuring best practices across the institution.
  6. Manage Events and Budgets: Oversee the organization and execution of student engagement events, managing budgets for domestic and international immersions and student activities.
  7. Build Professional Relationships and Networks: Initiate and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including industry professionals, to enhance opportunities for students and faculty alike.
  8. Act as the Student Contact Point: Serve as the Faculty's main point of contact for students, fostering a supportive and engaged community that prioritizes student success.
Qualifications, skills & experience
  • Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Experience in the development and review of contracts, reports, and proposals.
  • Demonstrated excellent negotiation, tactical thinking, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive experience with delivering events and programs that improve student experience and build a sense of belonging.
  • Up-to-date working knowledge of key legislation, policies, procedures, and best practices relevant to domestic and/or overseas immersions and student experience.
  • Proven high-level stakeholder management skills and the ability to interact effectively across diverse professional spheres including academic, administrative, public and corporate sectors.
  • Strong skills in project management and the ability to meet competing deadlines.
  • Teamwork and coordination skills for the purpose of achieving outcomes that benefit students.
  • Proven initiative, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in conducting financial, market, and industry analysis to inform business development strategies.
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office and the ability to learn and implement new systems.
