Public Relations & Partnerships Specialist

Spotlight Retail Group (SRG) is seeking a proactive and dynamic Public Relations (PR) & Partnerships Specialist to join our Brand Marketing team. This is a hybrid role based at our South Melbourne office with a flexible one week in, one week out schedule.

Overview: We are an iconic, Australian-owned and operated global retail business focused on growth and innovation. This role executes PR and partnership strategies for the Spotlight and KOO brands, with an entrepreneurial mindset and attention to detail to bring campaigns to life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Public Relations: Lead the development and execution of PR strategies for all brand activity, campaigns, and product launches. Collaborate with the external PR agency to secure proactive media coverage and create newsworthy content.
  • Partnerships: Manage and execute key partnership activities with major organizations (e.g., My Kitchen Rules, Starlight Foundation, AFL). Build and nurture relationships with corporate partners to bring campaigns to life.
  • Event Management: Oversee events from conception to execution, including budgeting, logistics, and ensuring seamless delivery.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Track and report on PR and partnership campaign effectiveness, aligning activities with commercial goals. Utilize analytical skills and PR tools (e.g., Meltwater) to measure success.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Social Media and Campaigns teams to amplify hype around events and partnerships through integrated marketing initiatives.
About You
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in PR, ideally with an agency background working with retail clients or in-house retail.
  • Tertiary qualifications in PR, Communications, and/or Journalism.
  • Excellent writing and research skills with the ability to craft compelling content.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management and event coordination.
  • Highly organized, proactive, with acute attention to detail.
  • Understanding of commercial outcomes and how to align PR and partnerships with business goals.
