We are seeking a Site Manager to join our busy and growing team for upcoming and ongoing works. Must be reliable, competent, self-motivated and experienced in commercial construction in Melbourne.
About the BusinessOur business provides design, construction and project management services for all types of commercial and industrial projects.
We are an ISO accredited, tier 3, non EBA builder undertaking works all over metropolitan Melbourne. Our projects range in value between $2-$10 million. The majority of our projects are $3-$4 million dollars each.
With a strong pipeline of work for the next 12 months, we are looking for an experienced Site Manager to join our organisation. About the RoleThe role provides a chance to work in an experienced team with future career growth potential. Reporting to the Construction/Project Manager, your role will see you delivering a diverse range of commercial construction projects in line with the construction programme, cost standards and ensuring there is always a strong focus on quality and safety.
The successful applicant will need to have experience in a similar role, and be seeking to take on additional responsibilities and challenges.
Your role will include, but not be restricted to:
Responsibilities- Working with the Project Manager to develop, and then implement construction methodologies that lead to the safest and most efficient build
- Coordinating sub-contractors and trades
- Managing Quality and WHS compliance
- Report to internal stakeholders and advise on site progression and outcomes
- Developing and managing the project programme
- Creating and maintaining strong relationships with our Subcontractors, Consultants and Client partners
- Managing and coaching staff effectively, leading the site team in achieving both project and individual goals
To apply for this position, you must:
- Have a Current Drivers License and own vehicle.
- Have a current building & construction industry induction card (White Card).
- Be self-motivated with a high work ethic.
- Proven building knowledge and a thorough understanding of the construction process with solid experience in a similar role (5 years +).
- Willingness to adapt to tasks and conditions.
- A strong understanding of project planning and programming.
- Excellent time management skills and strong attention to detail.
- Strong experience in maintaining and promoting health and safety in the workplace; with strong understanding of OH&S laws and requirements.
- Have a good understanding of working in team environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and personable skills to engage with stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Have a good understanding of the building industry.
- Experience in the delivery of either high-end fitout, refurbishment or new build commercial projects ($3m+).
- Trade background essential in carpentry and/or building: You will be a hands-on dividing your time between work on the tools and managing the site if required.
- Oversee, manage and deliver projects onsite from beginning to end. Adhere to, improve upon and maintain the construction program.
- Ability to lead, plan for and manage onsite resources, including labour and equipment.
- Carry out safety audits, toolbox talks, quality ITPs and site coordination meetings.
- Provide practical solutions to daily on site challenges and obstacles.
- Lead, manage and mentor team members to achieve their full potential and ensure behaviors are aligned with the company's values.
- Experience using MS Projects, desirable.
- Must have the right to live and work in Australia (Australian/New Zealand Passport or Birth certificate, a valid Visa or Permanent Residency).
