About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Senior Process Engineer to work within our engineering department to develop & guide advanced engineering concepts to assist with our novel mineral processing technology.

This role reports to the Engineering Manager, working closely with the wider R&D Team, to bring expert metallurgist knowledge for our lithium extraction projects in Australia and abroad.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Undertake engineering modelling, design and project management tasks on projects – both in the office and on site – to optimise processes, ensuring safe designs, reduce operational costs and improve quality.
  2. Work with and manage process engineers and any other disciplines as required to deliver documentation and design for large mineral extraction projects.
  3. Create the main engineering process documents and lists for engineering design. Be experienced on what is included in the lists and how to generate best in class engineering documentation.
  4. Work closely with management and engineering teams to develop and test new novel technologies.
  5. Compilation of Process Flow Diagrams, along with associated mass and energy balance calculations.
  6. Proficient in developing and reading P&ID's.
About the Ideal Candidate
  1. Experience in hydrometallurgy, working with complicated engineering projects – Industrial Process or Battery chemical processing background advantageous.
  2. Experience in Crystallisation, fluidised bed and RO/IX design and operations highly advantageous.
  3. University bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, metallurgy or equivalent, recognised by Engineers Australia.
  4. 8 years' experience minimum in design, commissioning and/or operational experience of hydrometallurgical processing equipment.
  5. Knowledge/Experience in scoping and management of metallurgical test work programs (bench-scale, pilot-scale, on-site testing).
  6. Preferable experience: pyrometallurgy, lithium extraction, and/or acid leaching, pressure leaching neutralization.
