Sydney, Australia Pinsent Masons Full time
Brief

Our construction and infrastructure team is absolutely thriving, and are looking for experienced front-end lawyers join our team supporting the development of major infrastructure and energy projects for domestic and international clients.

About the projects team

The construction of major infrastructure and energy is part of our DNA. We have created a full service offering unique in the Australian market, with capability to support clients throughout their entire project lifecycle. Working with some of the biggest names in both sectors, our team of leading lawyers provide transactional, advisory and contentious services on complex local, international and multi-jurisdictional projects.

About the opportunity

We are keen to speak to candidates in the Sydney market.

As a core member of the Projects team, you will work closely with Partners and your colleagues (both in Australia and Asia) on high profile front-end energy and infrastructure projects primarily with major contractors and developers. We work across a range of industries, however the current focus is on renewables and power infrastructure, transport (major rail and road projects), water and social infrastructure. We are looking for front-end senior lawyers with experience in any (or multiple) of these areas.

You will be given a high level of responsibility and autonomy to lead matters or work streams, so you will need to be a technical expert who is confident advising clients with complex drafting and negotiation skills. Additionally, you will be a key contributor to the success of the team, working closely with Partners on business development activities to identify new client opportunities and contribute strategically to proposal and tender efforts. You will also be encouraged to develop your own valuable relationships and build on your market presence.

About you

At Pinsent Masons we do things a bit differently and look for high-performers who are not afraid to try new things and question the status quo. We put our team above all else, because we consider our investment in you to be not just our best business activity but also our most rewarding one.

You will also have the following skills and attributes:

Be a qualified lawyer with at least four years’ experience (in-house or private practice)
Have demonstrated expertise in front-end construction and infrastructure or energy markets
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to assimilate information quickly and handle multiple priorities under pressure or within tight timeframes
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise with clients and diverse stakeholder audiences
Be commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development
Enjoy working in a fast-paced high-performing team, and
Bring energy, passion, inclusion and empathy to the role

What will we offer you?

We have a global reach and a local feel. With 28 offices and more than 1500 lawyers operating across Asia Pacific, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, you'll be exposed to domestic, international and multi-jurisdictional high-profile work, yet be in an office where everyone knows your name.
We do things a bit differently. Legal services are at the core of our business, however we have diversified into other areas providing complimentary services to clients through offerings like Vario flexible services.
We like to be flexible. Our firm is professional but also relaxed, you can dress for your day and in your own style. We also promote practices that support wellbeing, mental wellness and work/life balance so that everyone can thrive at work and at home.
We're lots of fun and very inclusive . Proud of our leading reputation for diversity and inclusion, we have created an open environment where everyone can bring their whole selves to work.
