The Role

Margaret River SHS is seeking a passionate, motivating and dynamic educator to join our high-performing team. Applicants with demonstrated success in teaching Mathematics at upper secondary levels, particularly Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Mathematics, are highly regarded.

  • Excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and a proven ability to deliver a broad spectrum of secondary Mathematics content.
  • The capacity to differentiate learning to meet the needs of students across a range of abilities, while creating an engaging and purposeful classroom environment.
  • Strong classroom management and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and the wider community.
  • Proficiency in the use of Information and Communication Technology to enhance learning and improve student outcomes.
  • A reflective approach to teaching practice, with a commitment to professional growth and evidence-based strategies that improve student achievement.
  • A commitment to supporting the holistic development of students by integrating positive education approaches that promote wellbeing, resilience, and lifelong learning skills.

To work with us, you must:

  • hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. More information about employment eligibility can be found on our website.
  • apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start; and
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
