What We Are Looking For

Our Emergency Management Department is currently seeking experienced, proactive & adaptable Paramedics to join our expanding teams across the Central & Southern Queensland regions. Ideal applicants will have exposure to the coal mining industry and experience in emergency response services, with proven operational experience in the Queensland Ambulance Service regarded highly. Applicants are required to possess a high level of communication skills along with computer literacy & problem solving abilities, and the capacity to work both autonomously and within a team. Successful applicants must be based in Queensland, Australia.

Mandatory Qualifications Required

To be eligible for these positions you must hold:

• Standard 11 Induction
• Open Manual MR Licence or above
• Current CPR & First Aid – HLTAID009, HLTAID011, HLTAID014, HLTAID015
• HLTPAT005 – Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing
• AHPRA Registration
• Bachelor of Paramedicine
• Current QLD Coal Board Medical
• National Police Certificate (Issued within last 12 months)

Preferred Qualifications

Certificate III in Emergency Response & Rescue, including the following units:

• PUAFIR207 – Operate Breathing Apparatus Open Circuit
• PUAFIR210 – Prevent Injury
• PUAFIR316 – Identify, Detect and Monitor Hazardous Materials at an Incident
• PUAFIR324 – Render Hazardous Materials Incidents Safe
• PUASAR022 – Participate in a Rescue Operation
• PUASAR024 – Undertake Road Crash Rescue
• PUASAR025 – Undertake Confined Space Rescue
• PUASAR032 – Undertake Vertical Rescue
• RIIERR201E – Conduct Fire Team Operations
• PUAEQU001 – Prepare, Maintain and Test Response Equipment, OR PMAWHS211 – Prepare Equipment for Emergency Response

At Mining Skills Australia, we may also accept evidence of the above units of competency separate to the Certificate III in Emergency Response & Rescue.
