Overview

Research Fellow / Project Manager (Victorian Primary Schools) – University of Melbourne

Role type: Fixed Term for 12 Months, 0.6 to 0.8 FTE. Faculty: Faculty of Education. Salary: Level A, $85,555 - $116,094 p.a. plus 17% super.

Responsibilities
  • Manage Research Activities: Supervise research assistants, ensure ethics adherence, and oversee data collection and management.
  • Liaise with Stakeholders: Collaborate with research partners, schools, and families to facilitate study implementation.
  • Contribute to Project Deliverables: Develop data protocols, conduct basic analyses, and contribute to publications arising from the project.
  • Ensure Project Progress: Manage day-to-day tasks, organise team meetings, and address issues impeding project advancement.

You are a dedicated and versatile professional with a tertiary qualification and experience in research activities within primary schools, possessing excellent organisational and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.

Experience and qualifications
  • Honours/Master's degree in a relevant discipline with significant research experience.
  • Outstanding organisational skills, including project administration and budgeting expertise.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in conducting objective child assessments in school settings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using project management software and data analysis tools.

The Learning Intervention Academic Group comprises academics with expertise in inclusive education, educational psychology, intervention and the learning sciences. It focuses on science of learning, disability, neurodiversity, mental health, and well-being to prepare graduates as leaders in the field.
