The impressive portfolio of reds from McLaren Vale and whites from the Adelaide Hills have a global reputation for their consistency, style and quality.Our vineyard area covers 58 hectares taking in our Estate Vineyard at the McLaren Vale winery and 6 sites in the Adelaide Hills including Ashton Hills Vineyards, Hahndorf Hill Winery and leased vineyards in the Lenswood and Piccadilly Valley sub-regions.About the RoleThe Vineyard Operator / Supervisor will work primarily across Adelaide Hills owned and managed vineyard sites, with some work in McLaren Vale as required. It's a hands-on role with varying seasonal tasks covering technical, machinery operation, manual tasks, supervision and maintenance duties to ensure our vineyard operations are performed in a timely manner to the highest quality outcome and attention to detail. In-house training can be provided if required.The role reports directly to the Vineyard Manager with key outputs being:
- Company vineyard machinery and manual operations
- Seasonal and day to day vineyard repairs and maintenance
- Company vineyard technical services
- Contractor supervision as required
- Ability to work autonomously within an environment of accountability and responsibility
- Ensure that all company policies, procedures and practices relating to Occupational Health, Safety, Welfare and the Environment are complied with
- From time to time some use of a personal vehicle may be required to travel between sites – this will be reimbursed at the standard per km rate
- Minimum two (2) years' experience in a machinery operator role
- Current Driver's Licence
- Experience with operating various types of machinery in varying conditions and terrain
- Experience with supervision and communication with manual labour contractors
- Farm Chemical User Certificate / Approved Handler Certificate
- Fork-lift license
