Population Health Equity Lead
- A rewarding opportunity to make a real impact on heart health.
- Flexible hybrid working arrangements from any of our capital city offices.
- Enjoy generous salary packaging to boost your take-home pay.
Help create a future where heart health is fair for everyone.
At the Heart Foundation, we're on a mission to improve cardiovascular health for all - and we know that not everyone has equal access to the resources and opportunities needed for heart health. That's where you come in.
As our Population Health Equity Lead, you'll drive initiatives that close the gap in heart health outcomes for priority populations - including women, people in rural and remote communities, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and those experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage. You'll work alongside passionate colleagues, communities, consumers, and sector partners to co-design solutions, influence policy change, and embed equity at the heart of everything we do.
Enjoy flexible working - you can be based in any of our capital city offices, with our 50/50 approach giving you the freedom to spend half your time in the office and half working from anywhere in Australia. This is a permanent, full time position but we would consider 0.8 or 0.9 for the right person.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead foundational work to understand need, gather and analyse data, develop implementation plans, and set measurable targets over time.
- Shape and deliver advocacy, policy, programs and awareness campaigns that deliver on the Heart Foundation's vision to advance health equity.
- Collaborate with communities and stakeholders to co-design programs that promote equitable access and advance health equity for priority populations.
- Build capability across the organisation to ensure health equity is embedded across all the programs we deliver
- Strengthen existing strategic partnerships and create new ones to champion health equity, influence systemic change, and mobilise meaningful action.
- Develop and deliver a long-term plan for advancing health equity at the Heart Foundation.
What You'll Bring
- Tertiary qualifications in public health, population health or health promotion (highly desirable)
- Deep knowledge about health equity and the social determinants of health and their impact on cardiovascular disease
- Skilled at navigating complex health and social issues with cultural sensitivity.
- Comfortable with research, data analysis, and translating insights into action.
- An excellent relationship builder and advocate.
- A proactive leader with strong planning skills and initiative who can see both the big picture and the detail.
Why Join Us?
At our heart, we are driven by purpose. Every day, we make a meaningful impact through our work, and we are committed to supporting our employees in achieving a healthy work-life balance.
We are dedicated to fostering a diverse, safe, and inclusive workplace. We actively seek to represent the communities we serve and recognise the invaluable skills, knowledge, and perspectives a diverse team brings. We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and individuals from all backgrounds.
What We Offer
- Salary packaging to help you make the most of your earnings.
- Flexible work-from-home options – up to 50% of your week.
- A supportive and inclusive workplace culture where your contributions are valued.
- Additional gifted leave during the Christmas shutdown period.
- Wellbeing programs and initiatives to support your personal and professional growth.
