Perform and oversee vessel maintenance in line with the planned maintenance schedule and budget, ensuring equipment remains in top working condition.
Supervise and support personnel involved in engineering tasks, ensuring all work is carried out efficiently and safely.
Operate winches and other machinery during operations, providing assistance to Deckhands as needed to ensure smooth and safe vessel activities.
Prepare maintenance and operational reports, and report defects promptly to the Master and management.
Ensure compliance with Svitzer's policies, quality assurance, ISM procedures, and environmental regulations.
Participate in operational improvement initiatives and collaborate with local management to enhance engineering processes and operational efficiency.
Ensure day-to-day operations comply with all relevant environmental regulations, demonstrating Svitzer's commitment to sustainability.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for individuals who are reliable, safety-focused, and have a true passion for the maritime industry. To thrive in this role, you'll bring:

A minimum Engineer Class 3 Certificate of Competency (or equivalent).
Statements of Attainment in Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) and CPR (HLTAID001).
A current AMSA Medical and a valid MSIC (or the ability to obtain one).
A collaborative spirit and the ability to foster strong working relationships within a team environment.
Effective communication through both verbal and written channels, ensuring clear and concise information is conveyed
A calm and clear thinker who can make good decisions under pressure, especially in challenging or emergency situations.
Strong problem-solving abilities, coupled with efficient fault-finding to address challenges effectively
Comfortable with technology, including basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office tools.
