The Role

Due to recent growth in clients and repeat business opportunities, our Newcastle office is looking for a Civil Engineer with a passion for the Built Environment to join the Newcastle team.

Our team delivers various types of technically challenging projects across urban renewal / development and municipal infrastructure (earthworks, storm water, sewer, water, pavements, and road design, among others).

As part of our Civil team at Newcastle, you will play a key part in
  • Delivering various built form and urban development projects.
  • Managing projects and delivery of engineering investigation, assessment, and design and construction management documentation across a range of sectors.
  • Design of roads, bulk earthworks and drainage.
  • Manage and communicate project requirements to sub-consultants, contractors, architects and developers.
  • Multi-discipline project delivery by utilising a variety of civil design packages.

What we're looking for?

We Want You To Take Control Of Your Career And Successfully Operate In a Highly Autonomous, Yet Supportive, Environment With The Following Attributes
  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Demonstrated experience within a tier 1 and/or tier 2 engineering consultancy.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 post-graduate years of experience as a competent consulting engineer,
  • Experience in preparing detailed design and documentation of roads, intersections, pavements, earthworks, and stormwater drainage.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at the same time, whilst working autonomously.
  • Understanding of local government regulatory frameworks and statuary compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of civil design software such as 12D Model and/or Civil 3D.
  • Competent and independent use of other civil modelling software such as DRAINS, MUSIC, HEC-RAS, Autoturn and AutoCAD.
  • Organise and coordinate people and work in a decisive manner.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to speak and write clearly, concisely, and compellingly
  • Creative problem-solving skills to continually finds ways to overcome challenges and obstacles
  • Strong team ethic to work collaboratively across multiple offices.
  • Handles interruptions, changes, and challenges
