Executive Director, Strategic Communications, EL2 (EA2025/169) role at ACCC. We are looking for a senior leader to oversee strategic communications, engagement and public information management in support of the AER's strategic plan and priorities. This role is ongoing at EL2 level and may attract an IFA allowance depending on skills and experience. The position can be based at any AER office (Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne or Sydney) and is available on a full-time, part-time or job-share basis. What you will do- Oversee and integrate the Strategic Communications team to anticipate and deliver internal and external communications, engagement support and services aligned with the AER's strategic framework.
- Coordinate, prioritise, resource and ensure the Strategic Communications team's work meets appropriate standards.
- Oversee the AER website and intranet content, ensuring accuracy, currency and accessibility, with usership growth.
- Lead organisation-wide communication, information management and stakeholder engagement strategies; develop policies and plans to strengthen consultation, reporting and evaluation to support the AER Strategic Plan.
- Knowledge of Australian energy markets and the role, purpose and objectives of the AER within the political and stakeholder environment.
- Substantial senior leadership experience across strategic communications and engagement, preferably in government or regulatory settings.
- Experience leading a large, fast-paced, people-centred organisation or team.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or substantial equivalent industry experience.
You will be asked to respond to the statement of claims (no more than 500 words) and submit your resume with key outcomes or what you are most proud of in each role you have held (2 pages maximum).
Salary and conditionsSalary: $138,161 - $161,911 (plus 15.4% superannuation). The successful candidate will be appointed as an ongoing EL2 and may attract an additional allowance via an IFA depending on the skills and experience of the candidate. IFAs are reviewed annually and are not ongoing.
