In this role, you\'ll: Work as part of the Customer Protection and Network Resisilence team to plan and prepare for emergencies across a range of hazards (including bushfire) by developing clear, practical operational and location‑specific plans that enable swift, safe action. This role will see you help keep NSW moving during major incidents and emergencies. As a Crisis & Emergency Management Planner, you'll lead planning and preparedness activities, including exercises that ensure the division is ready, and you'll provide timely advice to support operational response when incidents occur. This is a permanent full time opportunity based at Wollongong.

Responsibilities- Work as part of the Crisis, Emergency Management planning team to plan and prepare for emergencies across a range of hazards (including bushfire) by developing clear, practical operational and location‑specific plans that enable swift, safe action.
- Lead planning and preparedness activities, including exercises, to ensure the division is ready for incidents and emergencies.
- Provide timely advice to support operational response when incidents occur.
- Contribute to maintaining NSW movement during major incidents and emergencies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to embed effective emergency management arrangements across local, regional and state levels.
- Emergency management planner with ability to turn risk into practical plans and exercises.
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to simplify complex information.
- Ability to build trusted relationships and influence diverse stakeholders.
- Understanding of emergency management arrangements in NSW (how local, regional and state layers work together).
- Understanding of BFMCs and how Transport contributes; strong knowledge is beneficial.
- Understanding of the road and transport network across regional NSW and how incidents impact customers and services.
