About the opportunity

Westgold Resources is currently sourcing proactive, safety-conscious Core Yard Technicians to join on a permanent 8 days on, 6 days off roster FIFO from Perth. Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, the Core Yard Technician will be responsible for performing core yard duties to facilitate the safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction and growth of the mineral resource.

We currently have multiple opportunities across our Northern and Southern Operations.

The role includes

  • Processing diamond drill core through the site's core yard, ensuring minimal backlog
  • Grab sampling from surface and underground stockpiles
  • Preparing sites for geological mapping by washing down, paint markups, and measurement markups
  • Working closely with Mine Geologists and conducting quality control on face sample collection, documentation, and delivery of samples to labs
  • Undertaking daily workplace inspections
  • Data entry into Microsoft software with attention to quality control

What do I need?

  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Current unrestricted WA Class 'C' Driver's License
  • National police clearance, completed within 12 months prior to commencement
