Contracts and Procurement Officer 16515

The Department of Local Government Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) acknowledges the Aboriginal people throughout Western Australia as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands, waters, and communities in which we operate. We pay our respects to all Aboriginal people and their cultures, and to Elders past and present.

About the department

We're a very diverse agency that contributes to a better Western Australian community through, among other things, providing opportunities for everyone to engage in a range of sporting, recreational, cultural, and artistic programs and activities.

Staff in our department work across the areas of local government, sport and recreation, culture and the arts, racing, gaming and liquor, multicultural interests, specialist Aboriginal projects and engagement, regulatory reform, infrastructure and state records.

Our work touches on amazing projects like development of the new Aboriginal Cultural Centre, delivery of major international sporting events and helping people stay safe while enjoying a night out in our Protected Entertainment Precincts.

About the role

Are you a highly organised individual with great attention to detail? Are you able to apply administrative contract knowledge within an ICT environment?

Join our team as a Contract and Procurement Officer, where you will play a critical role in administering ICT contracts within our Digital and Technology Services team. We have one permanent, full time (75 hrs p/f) position available.

As Contracts and Procurement Officer, you will accurately draft ICT contracts, working closely with business areas to ensure effective resource management, compliance, planning and expenditure that aligns with public sector and DLGSC's procurement and ICT functions.

This role is largely administrative, with duties inclusive of requesting quotes, tenders, invoices and purchase orders, preparing appropriate documentation to meet compliance standards, assisting with reporting on performance and contractual obligations, and liaising with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally to perform the duties effectively.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in preparing contract documentation, including requests for quote and tender, and administering and managing contracts.
  • Sound analytical skills, including the ability to identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies in contract and financial records.
  • Proven administrative support capabilities, with proficient recordkeeping skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously to meet deadlines with a strong attention to detail.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills with the capability to adapt to target audiences and build productive relationships.

If you are ready to take on an exciting challenge and make a significant impact, we would love to hear from you

What's in it for you?

There are lots of benefits to taking up a role with DLGSC:

  • a competitive, award-based salary with annual increments within award bands
  • flexible working hours including flexible start/finish times.
  • superannuation 11.5%, increasing to 12% by 1 July 2025
  • access to salary packaging arrangements
  • 3 additional days of leave per year (public service holidays)
  • study leave/assistance
  • options to purchase additional leave
  • 14 weeks paid parental leave, with additional flexibility for new parents returning to work
